İMAMOĞLU'S DIPLOMA TRIAL TO BE HELD TOMORROW

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been held in Silivri Prison since March 23. İmamoğlu will appear before the judge tomorrow in the case opened regarding his diploma. In his statement ahead of the hearing, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik emphasized the need to draw attention to this case for the sake of Turkey's future.

ÇELİK: "WE WILL BE IN SILIVRI"

In his statement on his social media account, Çelik said, “They canceled his 35-year-old diploma to block our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. That was not enough; they filed a lawsuit against him and his university friends. We will be in Silivri tomorrow to follow this trial, which the public conscience rejects, on-site. We will be there to defend Turkey!”

Özgür Çelik alleged that there were election-related irregularities behind this legal process against İmamoğlu. Stating, "We will fight to the end against the tricks of those who do not trust themselves at the ballot box!" Çelik invited party members and citizens to show solidarity and take part in the hearing.
