Call to Erdoğan from the Victory Party: This is the biggest mistake that can be made

Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ posted a series of messages on the X platform titled 'A call from the Victory Party to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'.

Referring to a member of parliament who made a post targeting the Republic, Özdağ emphasized the '100th anniversary'. Outlining policies that should be implemented through various headings, Özdağ also criticized Turkey's Middle East policy.

''IT COULD DRAG THE WORLD INTO A WORLD WAR''

Özdağ's post is as follows:

''The possibility of the genocide-war that started in Gaza turning into a regional and then a global war is rising steadily. The cadre governing Israel are fanatics who believe they are acting on so-called divine messages. Netanyahu's announcement that they will not limit the war to genocide in Gaza but will redraw the borders of the Middle East, and his provocation of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, show that the war could take on a regional character at any moment. Netanyahu's statement that he bases Israel's actions on the Isaiah Prophecy shows that Israeli religious fanaticism has the potential to trigger a world war that could drag our world to destruction.

''THE US LABELS OUR COUNTRY AS A THREAT FOR ITS OWN INTERESTS''

Russia conducting a nuclear power exercise actually shows what a knife-edge we are living on in the region and the world. Likewise, the US placing air defense systems in regional countries shows that it is preparing for a conflict beyond Gaza. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's statement that “developments could result in a great war or a great peace” also explains the gravity of the situation our country is facing. On the other hand, US President Biden labels our country as a grave threat to American interests, while Erdoğan rightly says that the US is encircling Turkey via its bases in Greece and Syria. While the situation in Turkish-US relations is at the point of such heavy accusations, the fact that the US shot down a Turkish SİHA (UCAV) despite Hakan Fidan warning 3rd parties, i.e., the US, before Turkey's air offensive against PKK/YPG targets in Iraq and Syria, is not a simple defense of an American base/soldier, but the first joint military defense action of the US and the PKK against the TSK (Turkish Armed Forces).

''MAKING PEOPLE CALL OUR REPUBLIC A '100-YEAR ANESTHESIA PERIOD'''

The threat is not only in the Middle East. They are preparing Armenia, which was defeated in the South Caucasus, for war again. In summary, Turkey is at the epicenter of a potential regional and global war. While our region and the world are on the brink of war, and at a time when national unity is most necessary for the defense of the country, Turkish society is in a state of terrible division. While Erdoğan is primarily responsible for ensuring national unity, he is deepening social division by not celebrating the 100th anniversary of our Republic and by having AK Party deputies call our cherished Republic a “100-year anesthesia period.” This is the biggest mistake that can be made. Furthermore, the presence of millions of refugees and illegal migrants living in our country who have experienced civil war trauma, and the sleeper cells of terrorist organizations infiltrated by imperialism among them, further increase the risk our country is facing.

''STEPS MUST BE TAKEN RAPIDLY TO ENSURE NATIONAL UNITY''

We are addressing Erdoğan from here; as the requirement of your duty as President, we want you to end these divisive attitudes in this extremely critical process for our country and humanity, and to rapidly take initiatives that will ensure national unity, solidarity, and a total struggle. What needs to be done is to rapidly take steps that will ensure national unity. For this,

• 100th-anniversary celebrations should be held in a manner worthy of the 100th anniversary of our Republic and should continue until November 10. In this context, the construction of a 100th Anniversary Monument in Ankara should be announced.
• As long as the massacre in Gaza continues, the parties should be notified that the activities of the Incirlik base will be suspended and that the Kürecik radar's information sharing with Israel will be stopped or its activities will be completely halted,
• The activation and positioning of the S-400s should be ensured,
• The draft law required for the establishment of the Military Health System and the opening of military hospitals, as well as the draft law on military justice, should be submitted to the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey),
• Preparations required to eliminate internal security weaknesses should be made rapidly,
• Additional measures should be taken for border security,
• The approval of Sweden's NATO membership in the TBMM should be postponed,
• The United Nations General Assembly has become deadlocked and unable to make decisions because the 5 permanent members of the Security Council cannot agree. This situation reminds us of the 'contribution'(!) the League of Nations, which became completely ineffective in matters of security and peace in the 1930s, made to the opening of the path to World War II. In the face of this situation, the General Assembly needs to authorize itself in matters of peace and security with a resolution similar to the “Uniting for Peace Resolution” of 1950 during the Korean War. It would be appropriate for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to initiate a new move at the UN on this matter.

This initiative will ensure that the policy of “The world is bigger than 5” is put into practice with a correct and timely opening. The Victory Party is making these proposals to defend the high interests of the great Turkish Nation, above all kinds of daily political competition and evaluation.''
