There had been speculation over whether Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Cemal Enginyurt and Izmir MP Salih Uzun would resign in response to developments within the Democrat Party.

Cemal Enginyurt stated that the congress, which they had proposed to be held in March, was moved forward by the Chairman without informing them. Expressing his reaction to this situation, Enginyurt "We requested that our names not be included on any board, we informed them that we would not attend the congress, and we will resign next week" he had said.

Making statements yesterday, Cemal Enginyurt "No, I have not resigned. It is a lobby rumor. We will see after tomorrow, hopefully" while using these expressions, Salih Uzun said, "We have not resigned yet. We will evaluate it tomorrow and make a decision accordingly. We will look at it together with Mr. Cemal and evaluate it with our other colleagues as well" he had said.
