Cemal Enginyurt, who joined the CHP at the party's weekly group meeting, responded to the 'insulting and threatening the President' investigation launched against him later in the day with a statement on his social media account.
While it was noted that the investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following Enginyurt's speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly in Ankara, the CHP deputy pointed to this detail in his post, which included the following statements:
"This is only to be expected from those whose duty is to serve Erdoğan. Anyone who takes a step back is a coward. Justice has gone on vacation. Damn your justice, SHAME ON YOU."
