Chants of 'we want Sharia' from the crowd at Erdoğan's Mersin rally: Captured on live broadcast

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at his party's rally in Mersin.

During his speech, in which he gave messages regarding the local elections and criticized the CHP, chants of "we want Sharia" were heard from the crowd while Erdoğan was delivering remarks he has recently labeled as "Zübük politics."

Those moments were also captured on the broadcast.

Erdoğan's other statements are as follows:

"My brothers and sisters, they have no vision, no program, no project. Their dreams are limited only to their own political interests. Because they are busy dealing with each other, they cannot see the country, our cities, or our people. They have no time for anything other than 'brewing' among themselves. They do not even have the intention to look at Mersin, to understand Mersin, or to make preparations that will meet Mersin's expectations. I suppose the only country where an opposition tries to win elections by dealing with itself rather than its rivals is mine. Rest assured, all their words are lies, stories. Remember those who came to power in the last elections with reckless, uncalculated promises. Mersin is not obligated to Zübük politicians. Let's end the era of these incompetent, ambitious people on March 31. Let's end the era of Atatürk exploiters.
