GRANTED PERMISSION FOR MAY 1ST IN TAKSIM

Koç answered questions from journalists after taking the seat.

When asked whether May 1st events would be held in Taksim Square, Koç replied, "Of course I would grant permission."

''WE HAVE RECEIVED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS''

Following this, Governor Gül gave a speech, saying, "First of all, we congratulate our honorable Governor. She has truly raised herself very well. I congratulate the mother who raised you and your teachers. Both your diction is very good, and the messages you gave are very, very good. I hope that as the youth of tomorrow, you will be happy and do the work you want to do. I congratulate your friends; you came as a team. In Istanbul, as in Turkey, our quality of education is getting better every day compared to the previous one, just like in other fields. We could not even imagine a significant portion of the issues seen as needs today 5 years ago, 10 years ago, or 30 years ago; but better is always possible. Especially libraries within walking distance, schools within walking distance, increasing green spaces, and carrying out orderly urbanization, which you feel the lack of, are very, very important needs not only for children but for all of us. We have received your instructions. I believe that our municipalities, which are primarily responsible for this, have also received your instructions."
