CHP begins Esenyurt vigil: Who will take part in the vigil?

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Party Assembly (PM) gathered in Istanbul under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel following the appointment of a trustee to Esenyurt Municipality.
The CHP met at 10:00 AM at a hotel in Istanbul's Avcılar district to determine its 15-day roadmap regarding the situation of detained Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the party's stance against the trustee appointed to the municipality.
The agenda of the meeting included the topics and proposals discussed during the recent CHP Parliamentary Group legislative year camp, as well as the strategy the party will follow in response to the arrest of Ahmet Özer and the appointment of a trustee to the municipality. Following the PM meeting, which concluded at 3:45 PM, Özgür Özel and the Central Executive Board (MYK) members moved on to the weekly MYK meeting.
VIGIL BEGINS TOMORROW
According to information obtained, in line with the decision taken at the CHP PM meeting, CHP deputies and MYK members will begin holding a vigil at Esenyurt Municipality starting tomorrow.
It was stated that CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın, Deputy Chairman Responsible for Legal and Election Affairs Gül Çiftci, High Disciplinary Board (YDK) Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Turan Taşkın Özer, and Ankara Deputy Aliye Timisi Ersever will take part in the first vigil, which will continue until Sunday, November 17.
WHY WAS ESENYURT MAYOR AHMET ÖZER ARRESTED?
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer became the CHP candidate for Esenyurt as part of the "urban consensus" between the CHP and the DEM Party in the March 31 elections and was elected mayor with 49 percent of the vote. On the morning of October 30, Özer was detained in a house raid as part of an investigation into "membership in the PKK/KCK terrorist organization." Searches were conducted at his home, in his car, and at the municipal building.
According to the statement by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was alleged that Özer, who is also an academic, had contact with 694 people who were "members of the organization" as part of a 10-year retrospective review.
According to the statement, it was learned that Özer, whose criminal record was checked when he became a mayoral candidate, had been subjected to wiretapping, that transcripts of his conversations were created, that he was under physical surveillance, and that his bank account activity was examined. It was learned that the investigation was launched three months ago, and that Özer's conversation with KCK member Remzi Kartal took place in 2015 during the resolution process.
