CHP's candidate selection method has been determined! No primary elections in 20 provinces
In a letter sent from the Republican People's Party (CHP) Headquarters to 81 provincial branches, the methods determined for selecting mayoral candidates were announced.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek stated in a social media post that three methods are being used to determine candidates.
Accordingly, it was decided to use the methods of "primary election under party supervision," "simple candidate poll under party supervision," and "expanded candidate poll under party supervision."
The circular requested that the preferred type of election, or any other method if desired, be reported by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
NO PRIMARY ELECTIONS IN 20 PROVINCES
According to the report in Cumhuriyet, primary elections will not be held for mayoralties in the provinces of Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Denizli, Edirne, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Muğla, Mersin, Tekirdağ, and Uşak. For municipal council members, however, primary elections using a zipper system, surveys, and tendency polls will be conducted.
