CHP Central Executive Board meets: Agenda includes presidential candidate and domestic politics

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel. The meeting addressed the 2024 general elections, developments in domestic politics, internal party investigations, and the international agenda.

The meeting at the Republican People's Party headquarters began at 1:00 PM. According to information obtained from party sources, the MYK will discuss the primary election that the CHP will hold to determine its presidential candidate for the next general election, developments in domestic politics, the economy, and the event calendar.

The meeting will also address the investigation launched into the party's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, the lawsuit filed by former CHP Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş for the cancellation of the Congress, and the indictment prepared against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, seeking a prison sentence of 2 to 4 years for the alleged crime of "attempting to influence a judicial officer, expert witness, or witness" by allegedly targeting an expert witness involved in investigations and lawsuits against him.

The MYK will also evaluate the appointments made to municipalities, the visits of the DEM Party delegation to Imralı Island, and the latest developments in Syria and Palestine.
