CHP's Bakan reacts to Kılıçdaroğlu's Sabah newspaper interview: 'We would have liked to see him at the convention, not in Sabah'

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had criticized the current leadership's decision not to visit İmralı at his party's 39th Ordinary Convention and called for a 'purification' regarding the investigations into CHP-run municipalities. Following his criticisms, Kılıçdaroğlu continued his statements by giving an interview to the pro-government media outlet Sabah newspaper.

While Kılıçdaroğlu urged his party's leadership to be bolder regarding the İmralı process and stated that the investigations into municipalities should be concluded fairly, his absence from the convention and his decision to give an interview to Sabah newspaper sparked negative reactions within CHP circles.

SHARP REACTION FROM MURAT BAKAN TO KILIÇDAROĞLU

Kılıçdaroğlu's absence from the convention was criticized by CHP Deputy Chairman Murat Bakan. Stating, "We would have liked to see Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu here, not in Sabah newspaper," Bakan expressed that the former chairman should have shared his thoughts at the convention. Bakan made the following remarks:

"KILIÇDAROĞLU PREFERRED TO GIVE AN INTERVIEW TO SABAH NEWSPAPER"

"The place for the former chairman of the CHP and any of its members to speak is here; they come to the convention hall and speak. Therefore, we would have liked to see him here, not in Sabah newspaper. It was a great disappointment for me that he gave an interview to Sabah newspaper. Instead of sharing his thoughts here with the convention delegates and members, he appeared in the pro-government media, and his latest video is the same..." he said.

"IT IS SAD THAT KILIÇDAROĞLU, THE HOPE OF THE PEOPLE, IS IN THIS STATE"

Murat Bakan used the following expressions regarding Kılıçdaroğlu's situation: "He could have shared his thoughts with us; he could have spoken with our chairman. I am sad for his sake and as a CHP member. We fought saying 'Kılıçdaroğlu is the hope of the people' for him to become President; reaching this point is a great disappointment for me. He needs to see that he is upsetting both CHP members and opposition voters."

"THE 'PURIFICATION' MESSAGE IS NOT CORRECT"

Addressing Kılıçdaroğlu's 'purification' message, Bakan stated, "The words about purification are also not correct; we have no situation that requires purification," indicating that the current CHP leadership is on the right path and does not need purification.
