CHP Group Deputy Chair Günaydın rebels in video: 'Disrespectful to cancel one hour before flight'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Gökhan Günaydın stated that AJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, canceled a flight one hour before departure and told passengers there were no other flights available, with the next flight scheduled for 8 PM the following day. Reacting to the decision, Günaydın added, "My beautiful country does not deserve this."

CHP Istanbul MP Gökhan Günaydın reacted to the decision on his X account, stating:

"The disrespect of AJet, which cancels a flight one hour before departure and says, 'We have no other planes, the flight will be tomorrow at 8 PM.' The THY General Manager, a graduate of a Pendik Imam Hatip school, who earns 1 million 400 thousand liras a month... The AJet General Manager, who also receives a salary for board membership... My beautiful country does not deserve this!"

Additionally, SunExpress Airlines' repeated delays of flights to 3 cities at Antalya Airport infuriated passengers.

Passengers, who stated that no explanation had been provided by the company for hours, that no one had come out of the office to inform them, and that they could not find anyone to address, stormed the company's office inside the airport.

While passengers and their relatives recorded those moments with their mobile phones, it was seen that staff told the passengers, who said they wanted information, to leave. Tensions occasionally flared between the passengers waiting for a solution and company officials. The tension escalated further when company employees claimed they had been assaulted.

Passengers, who said they did not attack anyone and were only waiting for an explanation, stated that the situation would be revealed when security cameras were examined. The environment, which calmed down with the intervention of the police, became active again later. While passengers claimed that there were no slowdown problems with other companies and that it was only happening with the specified company, company officials who came out of the office said the problem would be solved.
