CHP leader Özel's statement on trustees and early elections: 'If things continue like this, the people will demand an early election and no one can stand in their way'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made evaluations regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting.

SHARP REACTION TO TRUSTEE DECISION

Speaking about the trustee appointed to theHakkari Municipality, Özel said,"Provide a clean criminal record when becoming a mayor. Then appoint a trustee in one day. Appointing a trustee is a disrespect to the will of the people of Hakkari. If a mayor is arrested, a replacement should be elected from the municipal council. Kayseri elects a municipal council, Hakkari elects a municipal council. You say 'you cannot choose from among yourselves, I will appoint one.' You appoint a governor. Those who have no respect for the will of the nation have no place in the hearts of the nation."he stated. 

AYKUT KAYA JOINS CHP

Özgür Özel celebrated the new additions to the CHP at the group meeting and pinned badges on the new party members.

Former İYİ Party Antalya Deputy Aykut Kaya, who resigned from his party, joined the CHP. 

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOR PILOTS MARTYRED IN KAYSERI

Özel said, "Unfortunately, we received bad news this morning; a training aircraft crashed in Kayseri and we have two martyrs. We wish God's mercy upon our martyrs and patience for their families." he expressed.

CHP Chairman Özel, recalling the group meeting of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli,said, "All MHP members are fed up with the two people who write all the statements Mr. Devlet Bahçeli uses today. God bless him." he said.  

"THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT ANNULLED EVERYTHING YOU DID"

CHP Chairman Özel addressed Erdoğan by referring to the Constitutional Court's decision to annul certain articles of Decree-Law (KHK) No. 703. Özel said, "Mr. Tayyip, I am saying it from here: the Constitutional Court has annulled everything you have done. There are 270 pages of annulments. This shows how the country is being governed with lawlessness. The system called the Presidential System is fundamentally unlawful. To demand a constitution, one must first comply with the existing constitution and not mock the intelligence of the nation that grants the authority."  he said.

Özel continued his remarks with the following statements: 

"Constitutional Court decisions and trials are on everyone's lips. I took an oath according to the Constitution, and Erdoğan also took an oath according to the Constitution. If there is a law or decree-law contrary to the Constitution, the duty belongs to the CHP, which can gather signatures from 120 deputies."

We examined everything in detail within 60 days. We made a submission as thick as a brick. The Constitutional Court took 6 years to examine the contradictions that we examined and alleged in 60 days. Meanwhile, ministers, rectors, and the council of ministers were appointed, elections were held, and the gentlemen made their decision.

The Constitutional Court decision covers TAF ranks, the appointment of justice inspectors, the appointment of the High Board of Religious Affairs, attendance fee payments, the structure of the Court of Cassation, and the transfer of Ministry of Youth and Sports buildings to foundations.

"As of last night, the beams of the Republic of Turkey are broken, its foundation is sand, and they have crippled the state. This state of affairs has been brought about by the AKP and MHP's disregard for the constitution." 

REACTION TO ERSAN ŞEN: SHAME ON YOU TOO

The CHP leader also reacted to Constitutional Law Professor Ersan Şen, who serves as the lawyer for the owners of the Ezgi Apartment,which collapsed in the February 6 earthquakes. Özel said the following:

"The lawyer for those responsible for the Ezgi Apartment scolds the mothers, saying, 'Do you know how much a red notice costs the country?' Shame on you too, brother, shame on you too!"

INFLATION ASSESSMENT

A decrease in inflation does not mean a decrease in prices. Prices only start to fall if inflation becomes negative. Currently, according to TÜRK-İŞ's calculations, the hunger threshold is 19,000 liras. The salary given to retirees is 10,000 liras. The minimum wage is 17,002 liras. In other words, the minimum wage has been below the hunger threshold for 3 months, and retiree salaries for 1 year. Turkey is the country with the highest inflation in Europe, and the country with the highest inflation in the world after Argentina and Syria. The economy is poorly managed in this country. The ink is the same ink; the cause of this problem is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"TURKEY IS AT A CROSSROADS"

The public called this process a normalization process and contributed to it. Some call it softening, some call it normalization. If a retiree is receiving 10,000 liras in 2024, if there is a plan not to raise the minimum wage in July, if victims of the internship and apprenticeship system are left in the lurch, if a bad education system is imposed on this country without listening to anyone by creating a curriculum mindlessly, it is the duty of the CHP to talk about these and object to them. This is the normal, this is what normalization requires. The idea of 'I am offended, I am not talking to them, I am not engaging with them, I am not holding rallies so they don't stir up the streets' while people are hungry is not the expectation of the working class and minimum wage earners today. The expectation is for the CHP to hear their voice and make it heard in Turkey. When the term 'softening' is bought in this process and normalization finds social support, some factions within the parties, some factions within those currently in power in alliance, say 'if there is normalization, we won't be needed, you also hear the voice of the retiree.' Let's fight, let the government do these things, and let the opposition stay silent; there is no such thing. 'If there is normalization, will we be left on the sidelines?' 'Normalization means softening; we are an authoritarian government, if we soften, we will fall, we must definitely harden...' Turkey is at a crossroads and will make a decision.

"CRIMINAL TYPES..."

If some people talk about softening while drawing a line and saying they have red lines, and if they think they can hide behind that line to ignore the constitution and seize the will of the people through trustee policies, then there can be no talk of softening or normalization. If our brothers and sisters who are imprisoned on our behalf in the Gezi case are to be held there unjustly, and if some people are going to market the failure to comply with the constitution as a national stance, then this nation will not grant you the credit it gave for normalization. They cannot have criminal types insult our party leader and pick a fight with us just because someone wants them to.

EARLY ELECTION STATEMENT

If it continues like this, the nation will demand an early election and no one can stand in its way. It is that clear. The nation makes itself heard by those who do not listen and makes itself seen by those who do not see. Those who read the era of democratization, normalization, protecting the victim, bringing a smile to the faces of retirees, and supporting minimum wage earners will succeed; those who do not, this nation will make them read the letter they refused to read during the general elections."
