CHP leader Özel's 'normalization' message: 'This process will not end'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was a guest of İsmail Küçükkaya on Halk TV. 

Touching upon the topics of 'normalization' and 'softening', Özel stated, "The normalization process will not end. Normalization is a self-confident process that we believe in, which we put forward with the responsibility of being the leading party. The summary of normalization is this; to demand what exists in normal democracies and for the opposition to do what is required of it. To greet, to talk, to negotiate. To demand what is in normal democracies."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In a statement to journalists yesterday, CHP leader Özel had said, "For a long time, we were saying normalization, while Mr. Erdoğan was saying softening. As of yesterday, he returned to the terminology we use in this process and started saying normalization as well. No one should expect a softening in the opposition during this process, but a ground for dialogue is necessary."
