CHP leader Özgür Özel speaks from in front of the Dikmen Gate: 'You repelled the coup attempt'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel addressed party members and supporters gathered in front of the Dikmen Gate of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

In his speech there, Özel touched upon recent developments and claimed that the CHP and the party's elected deputies were being targeted.

"YOU REPELLED THE COUP ATTEMPT"

Thanking the party members in his speech, Özel argued that attempts against the CHP had been thwarted.

Özel stated, "You have once again repelled the coup attempt, which was being carried out by the AK Party judiciary and its judicial branches against the CHP, which brought democracy, and against the deputies it elected, from in front of the gates of this glorious Parliament."

"THEY WERE GOING TO SHOW UP AT OUR PARTY'S DOOR"

Stating that the stance of the party members was decisive in the process, Özel claimed that the CHP Headquarters was being targeted.

In his speech, Özel said, "If it weren't for you, those types you all saw, who shouldn't even be passing through the party's street, would have shown up at the Parliament's gate at 07:00 on Sunday morning to reach our ancestral home."

Continuing his speech, Özel claimed that the individuals in question wanted to take part in the CHP group meeting, stating, "They were going to be brought inside as if they were guests of the CHP and seize the podium."
