Following the change in management within the CHP and the subsequent resignations of party officials and members, Koçarlı Mayor Özgür Arıcı announced today that he has resigned from the CHP. Özgür Arıcı became the first mayor in Aydın to announce his resignation from the CHP and his decision to join a new party.

Koçarlı Mayor Özgür Arıcı announced his resignation from CHP membership in a post on his social media account. Sharing the statement "I am an elected mayor, I will not walk the path with appointees!", Arıcı also shared the document confirming the termination of his CHP membership.
