CHP's Burhanettin Bulut responds sharply to $1 million allegation: 'You cannot smear me with this mud'

CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Public Relations and Media Relations and Adana MP Burhanettin Bulut has issued a sharp response on his social media account to the striking allegations made against him. The claim by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who gave a statement as part of a "corruption" investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), that he had given Bulut 1 million dollars, quickly caused a major stir in the public eye.

Stating that the allegations were rapidly circulated by certain media outlets, CHP's Bulut described this attempt as an "assassination of reputation." In his statement, Bulut expressed that he would not remain silent against this campaign targeting both himself and the party he belongs to, saying, "I am facing a campaign of lies, slander, and base defamation. They will not be able to smear me with this mud."

'LEGAL PROCESS HAS BEEN INITIATED'

He stated that not only the $1 million bribery accusation against him, but also the claims that he received 3.5 million dollars from a candidate during the candidate selection process, and that he purchased a villa in Ankara and Dikili, as well as a workplace worth 40 million TL in Adana after the elections, are completely baseless and slanderous.

Bulut said, "I am initiating legal proceedings against everyone who fabricated, spread, and circulated these allegations. This is not an attack by one person, but by an organized structure. I will fight against this structure to the end."

'NO PASSAGE FOR DIRTY TRAPS IN POLITICS'

Expressing that there are those who try to gain an advantage in politics by slandering their opponents, Bulut said, "I do politics for the people. I have never been a part of any dirty bargaining, and I never will be. No matter what anyone does, I will not fall for these traps."
