Tensions following a change in leadership at the CHP Nazilli District Presidency have spilled over into the party building. Dismissed elected district chair Sema Aslıhan Ökmen and her board members began a sit-in at the party headquarters following the decision.

Ökmen and the board members accompanying her did not allow Naim Atmaca, who was appointed to the CHP Nazilli District Presidency, to enter the party building.

Stating that they would not leave the party building, Ökmen said, “We do not recognize the person who came via appointment. We will protect the elected will.”

The development in Nazilli shows that internal party debate continues following the decision to dismiss and appoint in the CHP district organization.
