CHP Istanbul MP Oğuz Kaan Salıcı has issued a criticism regarding the planned increase in international departure taxes in Turkey.

In a statement on his social media account, Salıcı said, "If we pay fees for a passport and taxes when buying a plane ticket, why do we pay an international departure tax again at the airport? They are planning to increase this fee from 150 liras to 3,000 liras. It's a stamp, just a stamp. The government is putting a 3,000 lira price tag on a stamp. Where else in the world is this tax seen?"
