CHP Party Assembly makes 'return' decision: Tanju Özcan announces the vote share he expects if nominated

Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was expelled from the CHP and had made harsh criticisms of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on social media, had been removed from his party.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had made a "father's house" statement and signaled a return to the party following the expulsion.

Stating that the Party Assembly (PM) had approved his return, Özcan shared the following on social media regarding the matter:

"I just received the good news from our Bolu Provincial Chairman Tahsin Mert Karagöz. I have returned to the Father's House. I would like to express my gratitude primarily to our Chairman Özgür Özel and the members of the CHP Party Assembly. I will continue to engage in politics within Atatürk's party and within the framework of his principles. Everything will be much better."

CANDIDACY ANNOUNCEMENT

Connecting to a live broadcast on Sözcü TV, Özcan said regarding the process, "In short, we have returned to the father's house. After the change took place, our new Chairman and his colleagues expressed their will. I am happy. From now on, we will do everything in our power for our party to be successful."

Regarding whether a re-candidacy is on the table, Özcan said yes, stating that as there is currently no other candidate nominee in Bolu, he could be given another chance, and added that he also wants to see the polls.

TARGET OF 60 PERCENT IN BOLU

Apologizing to party members, Özcan stated that he had reacted emotionally and that he had no intention of specifically hurting anyone.

When asked if he thinks he will win if he becomes a candidate, Özcan gave a figure, saying, "60 percent or above."
