CHP's reaction to Mesut Özarslan continues

CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Local Governments, Gökan Zeybek, made harsh statements regarding mayors who left his party to join the AKP. Emphasizing that the CHP will continue its struggle with determination, Zeybek said, "We do not look at those who leave, but at those who stay here and fight."

"OUR NATION IS DETERMINED FOR THIS GOVERNMENT TO GO"

Speaking after the CHP Party Program Introduction and Information Meeting, Zeybek said, "The government is trying to seize municipalities where it could not win the clean votes of the nation in the elections by appointing trustees, removing mayors from office, and transferring council members. Now, it is trying to transfer mayors from other parties as well."

Stating that the CHP's struggle continues with determination, Zeybek said, "The public's support for the Republican People's Party continues. We will continue this determined and challenging struggle with brave, courageous people. Our friends are standing tall."

"OUR PATH WILL CONTINUE WITH US"

Regarding those who left his party, Zeybek said, "Sometimes there may be those who run away, sometimes there may be those who go off the rails, and sometimes there may be those who run out of breath." Emphasizing that the CHP is Turkey's leading party, Zeybek said, "We will continue this struggle with determination. We will continue our path with friends who work day and night for this nation and are willing to sacrifice their lives if necessary."

"THE POLITICAL LIFE OF THOSE WHO DO NOT ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATION'S WILL IS SHORT"

Pointing to Ekrem İmamoğlu as the CHP's presidential candidate, Zeybek continued his words by saying, "We are in the field and the nation is with us. We do not look at those who leave, but at those who stay here and fight," and added: "The political life of those who do not act in accordance with the nation's will is limited only to the period they serve. The place where the nation's will is manifested is the ballot box."

"PUT THE BALLOT BOX, WE WILL CONSIDER YOU THE WINNER"

Zeybek also touched upon the election debates in Istanbul: "If they have the power, bring the ballot box to Istanbul. If the margin is less than one million, we will consider you the winner," he said.

Zeybek also made the following assessment regarding the meeting in Balıkesir: "Wherever the Republican People's Party holds an event, wherever it meets with citizens, we gather the largest crowds history has ever seen in every province and district. The meeting in Balıkesir was also very successful in this sense."

Regarding the names who attended the meeting and its content, Zeybek said: "We held a successful meeting with the contributions of both our Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke and our Deputy Chairman for Local Governments Ensar Aytekin. This meeting clearly showed the point the CHP's struggle has reached and its future."
