CHP responds to AKP's Karaismailoğlu over his reaction to CHP leader Özgür Özel's trustee claims: 'We knew you had no shame'

In his speech at Saraçhane today, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel alleged that former Minister of Transport and Infrastructure and AKP Trabzon MP Adil Karaismailoğlu wanted to have a trustee appointed to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB). Following this, Karaismailoğlu posted a statement accusing Özgür Özel of lying. A response to the AKP member's remarks has come from the CHP.

Özgür Özel stated, "While they wanted to send a trustee to Saraçhane, someone whose name is 'Adil' (Just), who was once the general secretary here and occupied a ministerial position in Turkey, a troll-turned-politician who couldn't even become a real politician, was rubbing his hands together saying, 'Oh, I'm becoming the mayor of İBB...' The Prime Minister put him there, it didn't work; the Parliament Speaker put him there, it didn't work; the people of Istanbul said 'take your hands off.' They tried to make a former 'Minister of Transport,' an incompetent, ambitious person, a trustee here."

RESPONSE FROM BAŞARIR TO AKP'S KARAİSMAİLOĞLU

Responding to Özel's remarks, AKP's Karaismailoğlu said the following:

"Özgür Özel, whose Trabzon visit ended in a fiasco and who cannot answer the allegations brought forward by the judiciary regarding corruption, theft, bribery, extortion, and the diploma fraud where the rights of hundreds of thousands of young people were violated, continues to attack with his lies." 

Our people, possessing the will to distinguish between real service and a sincere politician, did not give credit to politicians who polarize our country and try to cast a shadow over the national will in Trabzon either.

It is the most pathetic story of the CHP that someone who has not received their share of service politics, state seriousness, or parliamentary and speaking etiquette occupies the chairmanship of the CHP, which claims to be the founding party of the Republic of Turkey.

Özel, who has brought back to the agenda an event that never happened—which was even personally denied by the CHP mayor of Adıyaman—has unfortunately chosen provocative spinelessness.

Those who are anxious about their seats can never understand those who are in a race to provide service."

"WE ARE NOT THE ONES ANXIOUS ABOUT OUR SEATS"

Criticizing Karaismailoğlu's response, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır said, "We knew you had no shame while hundreds of tenders of the institution you headed were reflected in the Court of Accounts reports as irregular, while the Council of State was canceling the tenders you made, while you were going on vacation on the private jets of the companies you awarded tenders to, and while you shamelessly announced that the data of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey had been stolen! If there is a spineless person, it is you and those like you who do not deserve to sit in that seat! Remember, we are not the ones anxious about our seats; the ones truly anxious about their seats are you, making your final struggles so that 'the seat doesn't slip from under me'!"
