CHP reveals poll on its desk

Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman for Local Governments Gökan Zeybek evaluated the party's recent performance at the Central and Eastern Black Sea CHP Mayors Meeting held in Altınordu. During the meeting, Zeybek shared information regarding polling studies and observations, asserting that satisfaction with services in CHP-run municipalities remains at a high level.

In his speech, Zeybek also evaluated the public perception of the judicial process concerning presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. Stating that 60 to 69 percent of participants find these operations political, Zeybek said, "Only 20 percent of the public approves of the practices carried out by the government with judicial support."

Emphasizing that the poll results clearly reveal the perspective on municipalities, Zeybek stated the following:

"Before coming here, we examined the situation in Altınordu. We walked the streets throughout the day and chatted with citizens. We compared both the poll results and our own observations. There is a general belief, ranging between 60 and 69 percent, that the judicial process regarding our Mayor and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu is political.

The support rate for such judicial operations by the government is around 20 percent. Regarding the municipalities, we see that the satisfaction rates measured in December 2024 are at the same level today. In other words, there is no decline. Following all these processes, citizens' satisfaction with CHP municipalities continues."

Zeybek also pointed out that the gap between the party's vote share in cities and the votes for its municipalities has recently narrowed. Recalling that the vote shares received in previous municipal elections were 10-15 points higher compared to parliamentary elections, Zeybek said that this gap is now decreasing.

Finally, touching upon the political landscape in Ordu, Zeybek underscored that the CHP has risen to become the leading party in the province by a wide margin, stating, "Thanks to the performance put forth by our party, provincial and district organizations, our deputies, our Presidential Candidate Office, and our municipalities, the CHP is in first place in Ordu today. This indicates the potential to win more than half of the parliamentary seats to be distributed in the city."
