CHP's Başarır responds to Akşener's declaration remarks: He reminded her of 4 years ago!

İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener criticized the CHP during her party's group meeting for voting 'yes' to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) motion. Responding to Akşener, who asked, "Was the İYİ Party the source of your stomach ache?", CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır reminded Akşener of her own decision regarding a declaration 4 years ago.

The CHP and Saadet Party, which had previously decided not to sign a joint declaration to be prepared following the attacks in northern Iraq, decided to vote yes to the TBMM motion on the same subject.

WAS THE İYİ PARTY THE SOURCE OF THE STOMACH ACHE?

Following the decision, İYİ Party leader Akşener criticized the CHP during today's group meeting, stating the following:

"A joint motion was submitted to parliament with Numan Kurtulmuş's signature, and interestingly, all those who had published a separate declaration supported this motion. The question is; was the İYİ Party the source of the stomach ache?"

FIRST RESPONSE FROM THE CHP

The first response to Akşener's words from the CHP came from Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır

Başarır continued his statement, in which he said, "We have never viewed Meral Akşener as a source of a stomach ache. And we never will. I hope the public does not view them as a source of a stomach ache either."

"Let me say this: the discussions held yesterday were in accordance with the seriousness of the state. In the previous tragic incident, we had 12 martyrs, and we had requested that 2 ministers come to Parliament to provide information. They did not come that day. We said we would not sign the AKP's declaration. And Mr. Numan came, and the CHP did what was necessary. This is not a tent state. We lose 9 more martyrs before the pain of the 12 martyrs has ended, and then the AKP group brings a piece of paper and says, 'sign it, the matter is over.' No! In a state of law, ministers come to Parliament and account for this. Parliament brings a motion, and the parties do what is necessary. Did it do so? It did."

HE REMINDED HER OF 4 YEARS AGO

"I think Ms. Meral should look at the importance of such a good system, and look at the declaration issued by the will of Parliament, not chase after AKP declarations.

I would like to ask the esteemed lady. 4 years ago, we had martyrs again, and a joint declaration was issued again. Ms. Meral did not sign it. She said, 'We do not want to be on the same line as the AKP, which creates terror.' What has changed?"
