Having concluded its 38th Ordinary Congress, the CHP has accelerated its local election efforts. The local elections will be on the agenda at the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting this week. It has also been learned that the CHP is conducting satisfaction surveys in cities and districts currently under its administration.
The CHP has not yet announced its candidates, with the exception of the current Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu, the current Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mansur Yavaş, and the current Mayor of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Özlem Çerçioğlu.
CANDIDATE MAY CHANGE IN ANTALYA
According to a report in Cumhuriyet, it is considered unlikely that Muhittin Böcek will be re-nominated for the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which holds critical importance in the elections.
It is stated that Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal and Döşemealtı Mayor Turgay Genç are ahead of Muhittin Böcek in the polls. The CHP also aims to win many cities that it could not secure in previous elections.
4 NAMES STAND OUT IN AKP
On the other hand, it is rumored that the AKP may enter the race in Antalya with former Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Menderes Türel, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Akdeniz University Rector Özlenen Özkan, or a district mayor.
