CHP's mayoral candidates in Istanbul to be announced

The date for the announcement of the 23 mayoral candidates that the CHP will field in Istanbul has been set.

With 3 months left until the March 31 local elections, the political arena and backrooms are active. In the CHP, which has most recently announced mayoral candidates in 126 electoral districts, including 3 metropolitan and 9 provincial municipalities, there is eager anticipation regarding who the Istanbul district mayoral candidates will be.

TO BE ANNOUNCED ON DECEMBER 27

The CHP, which currently holds 14 of the 39 districts, is preparing to announce its candidates in a total of 25 districts—24 currently held by the AKP and 1 held by the MHP—3 months before the elections.

The CHP will announce its mayoral candidates for the districts currently governed by the AKP on Wednesday, December 27.

ÖZEL AND İMAMOĞLU EXPECTED TO APPEAR BEFORE CAMERAS

The Party Assembly (PM) meeting is expected to be held on Tuesday, December 26, and Chairman Özgür Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu are expected to appear before the cameras on Wednesday, December 27. In the other two districts held by the AKP, İBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat in Fatih and İBB CHP Group Deputy Chairman and Pendik Municipal Council Member Tarık Balya in Pendik had already been announced as mayoral candidates.
