In the CHP, which has left its 38th Ordinary Congress behind, the Shadow Cabinet formed by Chairman Özgür Özel held its first meeting on Wednesday at the party's headquarters.
During the meeting, examples of Shadow Cabinet practices from around the world were examined, and what the CHP could do within this scope was discussed.
ÖZEL'S INSTRUCTION TO HIS STAFF
According to the report by Cumhuriyet; it was learned that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel told the Shadow Ministers, "Be on the necks of the ministries. But do not settle for that. Produce your own policies. Show what we would do if we were governing the country."
Accordingly, the Shadow Ministers corresponding to each ministry will regularly monitor the practices carried out in their respective fields. Each Shadow Minister will focus on the work within their own field and will not venture into issues outside their area. In addition, Shadow Ministers will also carry out joint work on ministries that concern each other.
For example; in the statement to be made by the party for the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Shadow Minister responsible for the Ministry of Family will work with the Shadow Minister responsible for the Ministry of Labor on the issue of combating violence against women in business life, which falls under the scope of the Ministry of Labor.
The Shadow Cabinet will hold its meetings regularly and will also meet with members of parliament on a weekly basis. For members of the Shadow Cabinet who are not members of parliament, delegations will be formed from among the MPs. The Shadow Ministers will work with these delegations.
THEY WILL MAKE PROVINCIAL VISITS
Within the scope of the first applications of the Shadow Minister management model, CHP's Shadow Ministers responsible for education, agriculture, and transportation, Suat Özçağdaş, Ulaş Karasu, and Erhan Adem, went to Hatay, which is in the earthquake zone.
Gamze Taşcıer, who is responsible for the Ministry of Labor, participated in the Justice in Taxation march initiated by DİSK last week, and then went to Siirt yesterday with Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, who is responsible for the Ministry of Energy, due to the collapse that occurred in a mine.
It was stated that the provincial visits of the CHP's deputy chairmen, who are Shadow Ministers, regarding their respective fields will continue regularly. Furthermore, it was noted that CHP leader Özel stated that special importance should be given to the earthquake zone and that, in this context, Shadow Ministers will be sent to the region at regular intervals.
