Çiğli Mayor Onur Emrah Yıldız, who switched to the AKP, closes his post to comments

Çiğli Mayor Onur Emrah Yıldız has announced that he has joined the Justice and Development Party (AKP). It was noted that the social media post in which Yıldız announced his party change was closed to comments.

In his statement, Yıldız explained the reasoning behind his decision through local services and investments. Stating that he was given the responsibility to serve the district in the last local elections, Yıldız expressed that the conditions for producing services had narrowed due to the burdens inherited from the past and political-economic difficulties.

Using the phrases “The voice of my conscience and my mind said; ‘Çiğli first, service first’,” in his statement, Yıldız announced that he would continue his service journey under the AKP umbrella.

Yıldız argued that the central and local administration working on the same plane is the correct method for services and investments to progress more rapidly. Stating, “For me, it has always been ‘Çiğli above all else,’ and it will continue to be so,” Yıldız claimed that his decision was driven not by personal political concerns, but by the expectations and future of Çiğli.

Stating that his goals for Çiğli have not changed, Yıldız noted that they want to produce deep-rooted solutions and leave lasting works in the district.
