Claim from Kılıçdaroğlu's former advisor: '2 investigations will be opened against Özgür Özel'

Nuray Başaran, who served as an advisor to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has made accusations against the elected leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel. Başaran claimed that two new investigations will be launched against Özel in the coming days and that a process will begin to lift his parliamentary immunity.

Following the court decision on May 21 that reinstated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to the position of chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), the crisis within the party is deepening.

While the events surrounding the police-enforced evacuation of the CHP Headquarters remain a hot topic, Kılıçdaroğlu's former press advisor, Nuray Başaran, has put forward striking allegations regarding CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

ACCUSATION OF "BEING LINKED TO FETÖ"

Başaran claimed that 2 separate investigations will soon be launched against Özel.

Başaran alleges that one of these will be based on the grounds of "being linked to FETÖ." Furthermore, she claimed that MASAK reports prepared regarding allegations of irregularities that surfaced during the 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, have been completed. The report allegedly suggests that money was transferred to accounts held by the party leadership through 143 companies via Cyprus during and after the congress.

According to Başaran's claims, the summaries of proceedings (fezlekeler) for both Özgür Özel and several CHP deputies will be submitted to the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the coming months. The most intriguing part, according to Başaran, is that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the CHP deputies acting with him will not oppose the vote to lift the immunities. This situation is expected to further deepen the existing division within the party.
