Claim shaking CHP corridors: 'If you stand with the Headquarters, we will protect you'

The demand for a party congress continues unabated within the Republican People's Party (CHP). Despite Kılıçdaroğlu's closed stance on the congress, the elected leadership announced that they have sufficient signatures and will file an application once the legal period expires.

The internal strife within the CHP has reignited with the statements of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to office via a court decision.

Figures close to Özgür Özel within the party leadership stated that Kılıçdaroğlu has made assessments regarding both mayors and members of parliament that amount to "extrajudicial execution."

Party strategists noted that while Kılıçdaroğlu has made statements regarding indictments against mayors such as "I don't know, I haven't read them, I am not a lawyer," he has simultaneously used phrases like "Let them go to the judiciary and clear their names," arguing that he is making assessments by accepting the accusations in the indictments as true.

The same figures stated that criticisms regarding pressures on the families of mayors, strip-search practices, allegations of threats, and the order of political operations during the process are being ignored.

"IF YOU POSE FOR A PHOTO AT THE HEADQUARTERS, WE WILL PROTECT YOU"

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, the strategists, who said that Kılıçdaroğlu's approach creates the impression that he will support the lifting of parliamentary immunities and leave the mayors alone, made the following assessment:

"After the vote, they were calling our mayors and saying, 'If you stand with the headquarters, if you pose for a photo, we will protect you.' They were saying there would be no operations. However, not only are the operations continuing, but they have also shown that they will leave our friends to the Palace's judiciary."

PREPARATIONS FOR THE JUDICIAL PATH FOR THE CONGRESS

Despite Kılıçdaroğlu's statements closing the door on demands for an extraordinary congress, the strategists stated that initiatives within the party will continue and that the call for a congress will be made again.

The strategists said, "Our provincial chairs submitted the congress signatures last Wednesday. They also gave a 10-day period. If the requirements of the party charter are not met when this period expires, we will apply to the court. This is not a matter left to Kemal Bey's intention. It is a matter bound by the charter and rules. There are sufficient signatures. We will make our application when the time expires."

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S PROVINCIAL VISITS WILL CONTINUE

On the other hand, it was stated that CHP's elected leader Özgür Özel will continue his field programs following his visits to Denizli and Burdur. Party strategists noted that the headquarters management continues its work in the central building, stating that Özel will maintain his contact with the public.

Making an assessment on the subject, the strategists used the following expressions: "Currently, the team at the headquarters goes from home to the headquarters, and from the headquarters to the Central Executive Board (MYK) room. They are not going out to the streets or visiting markets. The interest Özgür Bey receives on the street is obvious. For this reason, he will continue to visit markets and coffeehouses again next week. He will continue to have direct contact with the public."
