Claims that Hüseyin Çelik is forming a party: His biggest supporter is a former president!

Following the local elections, activity within political parties and efforts to establish new parties have gained momentum.

According to a report by Ünsal Ergel from Gerçek Gündem; a group led by former AKP Minister of National Education Hüseyin Çelik has begun meeting with key figures who previously served in the founding of the AKP.

It has been learned that Çelik and his associates, who have stated in various television programs that the AKP lost its "2002 spirit" due to security-oriented approaches following the Gezi Protests, are working specifically to ensure that those disgruntled with the party take part in the new formation.

THE ABDULLAH GÜL EFFECT

It is alleged that former President Abdullah Gül is behind Çelik and his associates, who are continuing their preparations to become the 158th party currently active according to the records of the Court of Cassation.

It is stated that the line of this party, which is claimed to include some names from the AKP's founding cadre, will be "nationalist, conservative, democratic, and libertarian."

However, sources close to Gül stated that the contact with Çelik was not aimed at forming a party.

BABACAN CLAIM

Among the information received is that another figure closely following this formation in Ankara is DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan.

While it is stated that individuals close to former minister Babacan have personally made contact with Çelik, it was also learned that DEVA Party staff have invited the names they learned were involved in the formation to join their own party for the struggle. However, it was reported that Çelik and his associates did not look warmly upon this invitation.
