As internal party debates and statements regarding the “absolute nullity” process continue to emerge within the Republican People's Party (CHP), former Deputy Prime Minister Murat Karayalçın has reiterated his call for an extraordinary convention.
In his post, Karayalçın stated, “There is no need for any dialogue platform within our party. Our party law, that is, our charter, is clear. One can never step outside of party law! A precautionary injunction is not an obstacle to us holding an extraordinary convention.”
Expressing that the CHP is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history, Karayalçın sent a message to the Kılıçdaroğlu administration with the words, "Our party is experiencing the most difficult days of its 103-year history. We are going through extraordinary times as a party, and the solution to these extraordinary problems lies in convening an 'extraordinary' convention. Sufficient signatures have been collected within our party for this. The demand for an extraordinary convention cannot be ignored, and it cannot be left unimplemented!”
Stating that the party charter must be applied clearly following the ongoing internal debates within the CHP and the precautionary injunctions issued, Karayalçın said, “Our party has been pushed into a pit, and the only way out of this pit is an extraordinary convention. The justifications for not going to an extraordinary convention are absolutely unacceptable.”
