Following the earthquake that occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, the disruptions in communication drew attention. In a statement made via social media, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici stated that operators were not making sufficient investments, saying, "You sell the world's most expensive lines, but if you cannot provide service even in a small earthquake, what will you do in the event of a major disaster?"
Destici also stated that energy distribution companies were causing problems due to a similar lack of investment.
If you sell perhaps the world's most expensive line and it doesn't even work during what could be considered a small earthquake, will you close up shop when a major #earthquake or disaster happens?

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER URALOĞLU
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in his statement following the earthquake, claimed that there were no interruptions in communication. Minister Uraloğlu's statement contradicts Destici's criticisms. Destici expressed his reaction by saying, "Someone should come out and explain this situation to our nation."
