Concerns in AKP over DEM Party and New Welfare Party: Kurum was pulling all the stops
Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan penned an article highlighting concerns within the AKP regarding the local elections. Babacan also noted that it did not go unnoticed by anyone that AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum made a 'grey wolf' salute followed by a greeting in Kurdish.

With only days left until the local elections, every move in politics is reaching a level that will affect the fate of the election.
Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan, in her article titled "AKP election claims: DEM will not work in Istanbul", wrote that the AKP believes the New Welfare Party will cause them more damage than the damage the DEM Party will cause to İmamoğlu in Istanbul.
Babacan stated the following:
"AKP members are commenting that the DEM organization will not put much effort into the local elections and that there is a high probability that two-thirds of their base will remain with İmamoğlu. According to them, they report that the New Welfare Party will cause more damage to them than the damage that DEM's fielding of a candidate in Istanbul will cause to İmamoğlu."
2 DIFFERENT 'GREETINGS' FROM KURUM
Reminding that AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality candidate Murat Kurum first made a 'grey wolf' salute and then a greeting in Kurdish, Babacan said, "Furthermore, the ridiculous situation fallen into regarding creating a perception of 'collaboration with terrorists' is on everyone's lips. The fact that their Istanbul candidate makes a greeting in Kurdish and then makes a 'grey wolf' sign on the same day does not escape anyone's attention..."
