Congress decision in DEM Party

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan made important statements at a press conference held at the party headquarters. Doğan shared the work carried out regarding the congress process with the public. Stating that the party has begun congress preparations to get ready for the new term, Doğan emphasized that the process is being conducted by taking the opinions of all segments into account.

Stating that the exact date of the congress has not yet been decided, Spokesperson Doğan said, "We will hold our ordinary congress in the autumn, around September or October. We will finalize our congress date in our party assembly."

Explaining that broad-based meetings and conferences are being organized before the congress, Doğan stated that they aim to reach the widest segments of the party through these discussions. She added that the general congress will be held after a major conference in the final stage.

In her speech, Doğan also made evaluations regarding the process being carried out with the government, expressing that Turkey must take steps toward peace under conditions where war and violence continue in the region. Doğan used the following expressions:

Stating that "in a region where there is war and violence, Turkey must talk about peace and build a vision of a democratic society," she added, "There are pauses from time to time, sometimes the rhythm is not at the desired tempo, yes. This is reflected to the public as; 'It means there is a deadlock.' Regarding these reflections, everyone in Turkey who defends peace, the right to life, democracy, equality, and freedom, especially us political parties, must feel a shared responsibility to achieve this."

Doğan drew attention to the importance of the demand for peace, equality, and freedom finding broad support across all segments of society. With the congress to be held in the coming period, the DEM Party's roadmap is also expected to become clear.
