The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) is publishing a weekly dossier documenting crimes committed against secularism as part of its We Are on the Heels of Cults initiative, which it launched some time ago.
"Crimes Against Secularism Dossier No: 7" was published today.
CULT PROTOCOLS, 'COME ON KIDS TO THE MOSQUE' PROJECT...
The statement read, "Those who surround every aspect of our lives with their pro-market and reactionary moves continue to commit crimes without pause. The list of crimes they have committed against secularism just in the past week is proof of the darkness we are facing."
The crimes committed against secularism in the last week were listed in the dossier as follows:
- 1. The Ministry of National Education (MEB) continues to target students through protocols it has signed with cults and religious communities under the guise of "non-governmental organizations." In the MEB's roadmap for the 2024-2028 period, it was stated that "cooperation with institutions and organizations that prioritize national and spiritual values must be increased."
- 2. It has been learned that the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), where Bilal Erdoğan, the son of AKP President Erdoğan, is a member of the High Advisory Board, will hold a 'competition' in schools affiliated with the MEB. The 'competition,' to be held as part of the "Bookworm Project," targets middle school students in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
- 3. The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) organized "Value for Youth Mid-Term Camps" in many cities, from Amasya to Sakarya, Bolu to Gümüşhane, Bursa to Bingöl, and Eskişehir to Hakkari. In the camps held in mosques and Quran courses, activities were carried out with children under the name of religious knowledge and values education.
- 4. In 2018, the High Board of Religious Affairs issued a fatwa stating, "Devils eat with their left hand." Now, the Diyanet is preparing to impose its unscientific teachings on children by requesting that it be taught in 7-10 age group Quran courses that food must be eaten with the right hand.
- 5. AKP President Erdoğan defended Sharia at the graduation ceremony of the Diyanet Academy, stating, "Hostility toward Sharia, which represents the entirety of Islam's rules regarding life, is in essence hostility toward the religion itself." Erdoğan also said that it is unthinkable for religious officials to limit themselves to mosques and Quran courses, and that the children in the places they go are entrusted to the religious officials.
- 6. The "Come on Kids to the Mosque" project, organized by the Server Yaşam Foundation, which is known to have links to the Naqshbandi cult, was implemented in cooperation with the Isparta Provincial Mufti's Office. Young children were taken to the mosque through this collaboration.
- 7. The MEB issued a special directive for cults. In the directive prepared by the MEB for secondary education students, it was requested that social responsibility activities be carried out with "foundations and associations with which protocols have been signed."
"We will not bow to this darkness. We will expose the crimes committed against secularism and follow up on each one of them. We will grab those who try to drown our beautiful country in darkness by the collar. We Are on the Heels of Cults," the statement said, calling for reports of crimes against secularism to be sent to tarikatlarinensesindeyiz@tkp.org.tr.
