Criminal complaint from ABB against Osman Gökçek: Response to 'shroud corruption' allegations!
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has filed a criminal complaint against AK Party MP Osman Gökçek, who alleged that irregularities were committed in the procurement of body bags and shroud kits.

Köksal Bozan, Head of the Cemetery Department of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB), has filed a criminal complaint against former ABB Mayor Melih Gökçek and AKP Ankara MP Osman Gökçek for "slander," "misconduct in public office," and "public insult" due to the "shroud corruption" allegation.
'HAS CONSTITUTED THE CRIME OF SLANDER'
The prominent statements in the criminal complaint petition submitted to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are as follows:
"If the suspect's statement, which constitutes the crime of slander, is examined, it will be easily seen that these requirements have been met. Although the suspect had no evidence in his possession, he made the statements in question solely to smear Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş and the client, Head of the Cemetery Department Köksal Bozan.
'HIS GOAL IS TO WIN ANKARA BACK!'
Underlying this behavior of the suspect is the psychology brought about by the fact that the political party he belongs to has lost the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality elections by a landslide in the last two elections. The suspect is trying to make people who are well-liked by society and especially by the people of Ankara look bad, and by doing so, he thinks that the political party he belongs to can win back the management of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
The suspect Osman Gökçek has made statements by abusing his public duty and has aimed to damage the reliability/reputation of Köksal Bozan and Mr. Mansur Yavaş in the eyes of the people of Ankara and the Turkish people, and thus the 'personal grievance' condition in the typicality has been met. Furthermore, with the statements he made, he tried to garner votes for the party he is affiliated with, and thus the 'benefit' condition has been met.
The suspect Osman Gökçek and İbrahim Melih Gökçek, who spared no effort in spreading Osman Gökçek's words, have committed the crime of insult against the client.
If they want to get rid of the crime they are accused of, they must prove the allegation in accordance with Article 127 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). If they cannot prove it, the crime is established."
REQUEST FOR A PUBLIC PROSECUTION
In the continuation of the petition, it was requested that an indictment be prepared against Osman and Melih Gökçek and that a public prosecution be initiated.
