CHP Başakşehir District Chair Beyzade Kayabaşı stated in a social media post that the Başakşehir Municipality and the government are afraid of the people's voice, having cut the electricity to the rally site. Kayabaşı said, "We will not bow to your dark games! We are here, in the square for the people, for justice!"

Kayabaşı said that before the rally, he and the youth branches and district administrators checked the rally site at the Bahçeşehir Marmaray station and found that the area had been blacked out. "This area belongs to the Başakşehir Municipality, the Ministry of Transport, and the State Railways. They have plunged this area, where our Chairman will hold his democracy rally, into darkness," he said.

Stating that tens of thousands of people are expected to gather at the CHP rally, Kayabaşı also drew attention to the Başakşehir Municipality's competition with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. "If necessary, we will use our mobile phones for light and fill our squares to bring light to this dark situation in the country," he said, emphasizing their determination.
