A delegation consisting of DEM Party Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları Oruç, along with Group Deputy Chairs Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and Sezai Temelli, will meet with the delegation led by AKP Group Chair Abdullah Güler at the Parliament tomorrow at 15:00.

As debates continue regarding the execution regulation that the public is eagerly awaiting, notable statements came from AK Party Group Chair Abdullah Güler. Responding to claims of "disagreement" regarding the legislative proposal planned to be submitted to Parliament, Güler stated that work is ongoing and that the goal is to submit the proposal today, but if it is not completed, it could remain for tomorrow.
Güler responded to journalists' questions about whether the proposal would be submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey today by saying, "We wish to submit it if we can finish it, but it might not be ready, it could spill over to tomorrow. Work is continuing intensively."
COVID REGULATION STUCK ON TECHNICAL DEBATES
Questions are also on the agenda regarding the regulation that is rumored to be included in the draft proposal and would cover the COVID period prior to July 31, 2023. When asked if there was a disagreement on this issue, Güler stated, "It is not a disagreement, there are some technical difficulties. COVID is not an execution regulation, it is an administrative measure. The existence of this measure is necessary."
Stating that he would provide detailed information later in the face of persistent questions, Güler avoided clear explanations regarding the content of the proposal.
GÜLEN MOVEMENT CASES AND EQUALITY DEBATE
The scope of the execution regulation has ignited a new debate in the public eye. It is suggested that if the proposal also covers convicts of "organized crimes," inmates currently in prison as part of the Gülen Movement cases could also benefit from this regulation.
