Crisis in IYI Party cannot be stopped: Resignations in Esenyurt over İmamoğlu... Council member speaks to Şenol Çarık

Resignations in the IYI Party show no signs of stopping. A group consisting of IYI Party Municipal Council Members and District Board Members in Esenyurt has resigned from the party.

Speaking to 12punto, IYI Party Esenyurt Municipal Council Member Enver Demir stated that the indecisiveness of the party leadership was a factor in their decision.

Noting that they had been monitoring the process for some time as the IYI Esenyurt Platform, Demir said they had decided to support Ekrem İmamoğlu in the March 31 elections.

Enver Demir continued his statement with the following words:

"As of the current process, the deterioration of the organizational structure and the fact that, while effective politics should be produced against the ruling power, opposition is being directed at the opposition, is viewed negatively in our eyes and is met with reaction by the voters. For these reasons, we are resigning from the IYI Party."
