President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has received MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. It is a matter of curiosity whether the 50+1 issue will be brought to the agenda during the closed-door meeting.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In his statement to journalists upon returning from his visit to Germany, Erdoğan had expressed that he was in favor of changing the 50+1 requirement needed to be elected President.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli responded by saying, "The democratic legitimacy of this system is 50+1," adding, "As the MHP, we hold the same view today as we did yesterday."

Although it was claimed that today's meeting between the two had been canceled, the meeting did take place.
