Critical meeting before the GİK: Who said 'yes' and who said 'no' to cooperation with CHP in İYİ Party?

As the local elections approach, alliance talks between the CHP and the İYİ Party have resumed. Following her meeting with CHP Chair Özgür Özel, İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener stated, “We were naturally going to convene the General Administrative Board on Monday anyway. We will ask this question to our General Administrative Board there. We will see what kind of answer they will give.”

'THE DAMAGE OF TURNING BACK FROM THIS POINT WILL BE GREAT'
According to a report by Cumhuriyet; İYİ Party TBMM Group Chair Koray Aydın expressed that cooperation could harm the party. Aydın reminded that the İYİ Party has publicly stated until now that it would participate in the elections in all 81 provinces with its own candidates and that there would be no cooperation. All those who opposed cooperation expressed the view that cooperating despite the current rhetoric would create inconsistency and backfire in the public eye.
GİK member Bilal Uzun had also shared his thoughts on this matter on social media. Stating that the GİK had already made its decision regarding the alliance and cooperation in September, Uzun explained his personal opinion as follows:
“After clear decisions and declarations, the damage of turning back from this point will be great. If there was an objection, it should have been raised two months ago; there should not have been statements in such a harsh tone. We have made a claim and we must stand behind it.”
PAÇACI SAID 'YES' TO COOPERATION
It was learned that Cihan Paçacı expressed the view at the meeting that there should be cooperation with the CHP. It was reported that Paçacı reached this conclusion by evaluating the general situation of the opposition and the İYİ Party. While it was stated that those who wanted cooperation were in the majority at the meeting, it was noted that Akşener only listened and took notes.
MHP CANDIDATE TO BE SUPPORTED IN KARS AND IĞDIR
In İYİ Party circles, the issue of not fielding candidates in Iğdır and Kars is also being discussed. There is a focus on the possibility that any cooperation could be used by the People's Alliance to bring up the propaganda that “they are cooperating with separatists.” On the other hand, it is also being evaluated that the İYİ Party could break this propaganda by not fielding candidates in Kars and Iğdır and instead supporting the MHP candidate.
