While opinions that the decision was "wrong" and "political" stood out in the poll, Özgür Özel's performance, the potential new party scenario, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's stance, and expectations regarding Mansur Yavaş were also among the notable topics of the research.

In a critical meeting held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), the elected Chairman of the CHP, Özgür Özel, and his staff evaluated the political repercussions of the absolute nullity decision. During the meeting, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, the results of a public opinion survey conducted with 2,094 people between June 3 and 11 were discussed.

The research revealed voters' opinions on many topics, ranging from public assessments of the absolute nullity decision to the politics pursued by Özgür Özel, and from the potential new party scenario to the stance of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

MAJORITY OF THE PUBLIC FOUND THE DECISION "WRONG"

According to the survey results, 61 percent of the participants stated that they found the absolute nullity decision wrong. The rate of those who found the decision correct was measured at 25 percent.

Participants were also asked about the nature of the decision. Accordingly, 65 percent of the segment evaluated the absolute nullity decision as "political," while 23 percent expressed the view that the decision was legal.

The research results revealed that a significant portion of the participants evaluated the decision as a political one rather than based on legal grounds.

The impact of the absolute nullity decision on political balances was also evaluated in the poll.

While 41 percent of the participants stated that the decision strengthened the government, 24 percent stated that it strengthened the opposition. 22 percent of the segment shared the view that the decision did not strengthen any side.

The political stance adopted by Özgür Özel following the decision was also measured in the research.

While 43 percent of the participants found Özel's performance successful, 41 percent evaluated it as unsuccessful.

Similarly, while the rate of those who found the policy followed by Özel correct was 43 percent, the rate of those who found it wrong was recorded as 39 percent.

In the evaluation made according to age groups, it was stated that the rate of those who found Özgür Özel's performance successful reached 62 percent among participants aged 55 and over.

In the research, participants were also asked what path Özgür Özel should follow in the coming period.

32 percent of the participants expressed the view that a struggle should first be waged within the party, and if no results are achieved, a new party should be established.

17 percent of the segment supported the direct establishment of a new party.

In the research, it was stated that when these two options are evaluated together, approximately half of the participants approach the new party option positively, albeit in different forms.

This tendency was higher among CHP voters. According to the research, 66 percent of CHP voters supported either waging a struggle within the party or directly establishing a new party.

STRIKING DATA IN THE NEW PARTY SCENARIO

The possibility of Özgür Özel establishing a new political party was also evaluated in the research.

While 83 percent of CHP voters stated that they would vote for the newly established party in such a situation, the rate of those who said they would continue to vote for the current CHP was measured at 9 percent. Among voters outside the CHP, 9 percent answered "I would definitely vote," and 24 percent answered "I could vote."

In the scenario study conducted based on this data in the research, it was noted that a potential political party that could be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel could reach a vote potential of approximately 25 percent in direct preferences.

In the research, the policy followed by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the chairmanship following the absolute nullity decision, was also asked to the participants.

According to the results, 68 percent of the participants stated that they found Kılıçdaroğlu's stance wrong. The rate of those who found it correct was recorded as 19 percent.

In the research, while it was evaluated that those who found the policy followed by Kılıçdaroğlu correct consisted mainly of government voters, it was stated that 91 percent of CHP and DEM Party voters, and 83 percent of Alevi participants, found this policy wrong.

Participants were also asked what kind of path Kılıçdaroğlu should follow.

Accordingly, 39 percent stated that a party congress should be held in a short time, while 28 percent advocated that a congress should be held after a purification is ensured within the party first.

The research also included opinions on what kind of stance Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş should adopt following the absolute nullity decision.

While 42 percent of the participants stated that Mansur Yavaş should act together with Özgür Özel, 35 percent wanted him to remain neutral. 7 percent of the segment expressed the view that Yavaş should act together with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
