The meeting between the Imralı delegation and MHP Chairman Bahçeli took place immediately after the MHP submitted a 120-page report it had prepared to the Speaker of Parliament. The meeting was recorded as the first session held within the framework of the "National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission."

Prior to the meeting, MHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Legal Affairs Feti Yıldız had stated, "Legally, what needs to be done depends on the complete dissolution of the organization."
