Date set: The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to host the NATO Parliamentary Summit

Ahead of the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in Ankara on July 7-8, the speakers of parliament and delegations from NATO member countries will gather in Istanbul. In addition to the speakers of parliament and heads of delegations from 32 allied countries, NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) President Marcos Perestrello, members of the NATO PA Bureau, and other high-level representatives are expected to attend the Summit in Istanbul.

The Summit, which has been organized by the NATO PA in cooperation with host countries since 2024, serves as an important platform that allows for consultation and exchange of views at the parliamentary level prior to the NATO Leaders' Summit.

The meeting aims to contribute to the strengthening of parliamentary coordination and dialogue among allied countries. The NATO Parliamentary Summit in Istanbul is the third of its kind, following summits held in the US and Belgium.

ERDOĞAN TO DELIVER A SPEECH

The NATO Speakers of Parliament Summit meeting will be held at Dolmabahçe Palace on Monday, June 29. During the meeting, speakers of parliament and heads of delegations will deliver speeches. AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to meet with the participants and deliver an address at the official luncheon held within the scope of the Summit. As part of the summit program, a field visit to the Baykar National Technology Center will be conducted for the participants on the same day in the afternoon. During the visit, it is planned to provide information about the company's activities, its work in the field of defense technologies, and its innovative projects.
