Davutoğlu reveals the candidate he proposed to the Table of Six

Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu answered questions from journalists he met with in Istanbul.

Explaining that he proposed the candidacy of 86-year-old Hikmet Çetin for the May 14 elections, Davutoğlu said, "The name I proposed to the Table of Six as a presidential candidate was Hikmet Çetin. He was no stranger to the Kurds, he knew the state well, and he was a name from the main opposition party."

Hikmet Çetin served as the Chairman of the Republican People's Party between February 18, 1995, and September 9, 1995.
