Debt of the controversial Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality announced: What remains from the 8-year trustee period...

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun met with journalists at the Sümerpark Common Living Space.

Speaking at the press conference, Serra Bucak noted that since taking over the municipality from the 8-year trustee administration following the March 31 local elections, their examinations regarding the inventory of movable and immovable assets have been ongoing.

Stating that they will bring the damage they identified in a short time to the council meeting to be held in May, Bucak said that work on legal processes is also continuing.

Bucak stated that in the next 5 years, they will come together with city councils, city advisory assemblies, and everyone working on the city, saying, "During the 8-year trustee period, our municipal service building and all our work were closed to all dynamics, especially the press. We will change this picture. All doors of our municipality will be wide open to everyone, especially the press," she said.

3 BILLION 345 MILLION TL

Bucak made the following statements regarding the municipality's debts:

"As of today, there is a picture identified by our internal audit unit. We will continue our work in the coming period and share it with you, our valued members of the press. The total debt amount of our Metropolitan Municipality is 2 billion 438 million TL, and the debt of DİSKİ is 907 million TL. Our total debt is 3 billion 345 million TL."

Bucak also said that the Metropolitan Municipality's debt, which has been tendered and reflected in accounting records, is 3 billion 640 million TL, and DİSKİ's is 200 million TL.

Doğan Hatun provided information to members of the press regarding the Metropolitan Municipality's immovable assets. Doğan announced that 44 immovable assets belonging to the municipality have been allocated to different institutions, including the Ministry of National Education, the Provincial Directorate of National Education, the district mufti offices of Sur, Bağlar, and Kayapınar, the Provincial Health Directorate, the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, DEDAŞ, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, and the Çınar District Governorship.
