DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan is making statements following her party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting.

Highlights from Doğan's statement are as follows:

We had shared our tendency to field candidates everywhere in Turkey. Subsequently, we shared the decisions of our election commission with you.

The time for DEM has come for Istanbul. Standing as a strong option, and as we have shared with the public as a tendency, we have decided to participate in Istanbul with our own candidates, not to make someone lose or win. Our relevant boards have initiated our candidate determination efforts.

We will announce the places where we will field candidates in Istanbul by February 9.

For Istanbul, for Turkey, it is time for DEM.

In response to a question regarding whether Başak Demirtaş would be nominated, Doğan replied, "We will share the names of our candidates in other cities where we will field candidates, including Istanbul, with the public by February 9. Dear Başak Demirtaş is also in our candidate pool; we will have determined all of these by February 9."
