DEM Party begins political tour following PKK dissolution decision! First stop: DEVA and Saadet Party
Following the PKK's decision to dissolve and lay down arms, the DEM Party is beginning a process of contact with political parties. A delegation including Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan will hold meetings with the DEVA, Saadet, CHP, and Future (Gelecek) parties. During the meeting held with Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, the emphasis on "fraternity law" and a "new social contract" drew attention.

The DEM Party is beginning its political party contacts following the PKK's decision to dissolve and lay down arms. The DEM Party delegation that will visit political parties will include Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, as well as DEM Party Group Deputy Chairs Sezai Temelli and Gülüstan Kılıç Koçyiğit.
According to Habertürk, the DEM Party delegation will meet with the DEVA Party and the Saadet Party today as part of these visits.
The DEM Party delegation, which will hold a meeting with the CHP tomorrow, will visit the Future Party on Friday, May 23.
VISIT TO İMRALI HAD TAKEN PLACE
DEM Party İmralı Delegation member Pervin Buldan and lawyer Özgür Erol met with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı yesterday for the first time since the PKK's dissolution decision.
The DEM Party made statements regarding the meeting and conveyed Öcalan's message. Öcalan stated the following:
"Not speaking with Sırrı Süreyya Önder one last time remains a regret of mine. He has a precious memory. It must be kept alive. He was a wise person for Turkey. We will not let his absence be felt.
There is a need for a new social contract based on the law of fraternity. The things we are doing represent a major paradigm shift.
The nature of the Turkish-Kurdish relationship is something else entirely; what has been damaged is the sibling relationship. Siblings fight, but one cannot exist without the other. We are clearing the traps and mines that have damaged this relationship one by one, and we are repairing the broken roads and bridges.
I convey my thanks to the intellectuals who have sent their messages and wishes of solidarity regarding me and the peace and fraternity process we have developed through our delegation, specifically to Alain Badiou and Slavoj Zizek. I hope to meet in joint international and socialist efforts."
