The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has issued a statement regarding claims that it would withdraw its own mayoral candidate in Izmit to support CHP candidate Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet.
The statement made on the party's official X account read as follows:
“Claims that we have withdrawn our own mayoral candidate in Izmit and will support the CHP candidate are baseless. Our mayoral candidate colleague has submitted their application and it has been approved. We wish them success once again. #DemGelirDevranDöner.”
İzmit’te kendi belediye başkan adayımızı geri çektiğimiz ve CHP’li adayı destekleyeceğimiz iddiaları asılsızdır. Belediye başkan adayı arkadaşımız başvurusunu yapmış ve onaylanmıştır. Kendisine de tekrar başarılar diliyoruz. #DemGelirDevranDöner #RabeDEMhat pic.twitter.com/FqflCJnauu
