DEM Party's Hatimoğulları makes statement on İmamoğlu

DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları made significant statements at the group meeting held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Hatimoğulları stated that the government must take concrete steps in the new opening process it calls a "Terror-Free Turkey." Stating that "everyone must do their part to ensure social peace," Hatimoğulları emphasized the importance of making legal arrangements before the 2026 budget.
Touching upon TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş's visit to Diyarbakır, Hatimoğulları said, "Posts made in Kurdish do not contribute to the division of the country, but on the contrary, contribute to unity." Stating that those who feed on racism do not want such steps, Hatimoğulları drew attention to the importance of the peace process.
Hatimoğulları stated that they visited the imprisoned former HDP Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ and that their health is good. Reminding of the violation decision given by the European Court of Human Rights for Demirtaş, Hatimoğulları said, "This decision must be implemented immediately and our friends must be released."
THE SITUATION OF İMAMOĞLU AND OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS
Hatimoğulları stated that the operations against CHP municipalities were carried out with political motives and expressed that Ekrem İmamoğlu and other elected officials should be tried without arrest. Stating that "their reinstatement to their duties must be ensured," Hatimoğulları emphasized that they are determined on this issue.
